CHESAPEAKE BAY RETRIEVERS
Brindle colouring is very difficult to photograph. Even strongly marked dogs don't show up well. The light has to be just right. I have a very good side view of a medium brown brindled adult but have to find and scan it.
The first picture is a very dark brown pup with faint brindle markings visible on the legs. If he didn't have the brindle, he would be a tan-point. He would likely have the same pattern as one of his littermates, a saddleback, hound marked type (visualize bloodhound markings).
This is the same dog as an adult. You can see shadings on the shoulder area and on the head. The small picture below shows a very brindled front leg and shoulder.
This is a series of pictures of the same dog. She is in the back right of this picture. Just her head is showing. At birth, she was dark brown.
The second picture was taken a week or so later. The third at about 4 months and the last at 6-7 months.
This is a deadgrass brindled pup below. The stripes may or may not fade.
